These tournament boards meet all ICF specifications and are in frequent use at a number of international tournaments, especially in Europe. The 16 mm playing surface is built up by fusing a 4 mm Baltic birch ply onto12 mm Indian plywood. This creates a very stable surface over which the pieces pass smoothly. The frame is made of shisham and is beautifully finished with a high-gloss clear overcoat. The factory finish on the playing surface may be better suited to boric powder than potato starch making this board the best choice for those preferring boric.
Note that there is some cracking in the clear finish on the top of the corners
on these boards (above). If necessary, repairs have been made. The price
has already been reduced due to this imperfection.
