A good family and beginner board, the "Ellora" has a 4 mm playing surface and a good sized shisham wood frame. The thin plywood, however, is not as flat and smooth as the higher-priced models and is therefore not as suitable for use with a tournament striker. With lightweight coins and a thin striker, this board plays as well as most home boards used in India and is superior to the least epensive boards available in many South Asian grocery stores.
